Incident at 8800 Broadway

February 20, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8800 Broadway on Saturday, February 19, 2005, about 9:00 p.m.

The identity of the victim is pending notification to next of kin by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the body and possibly ran over by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant Baimbridge and Officer N. Ruland reported:

Several males in a white pickup truck approached the victim and friends as they attempted to enter an apartment complex. It appears the suspects attempted to rob the victim and friends and an altercation broke out. The victim was shot and possibly run over by the vehicle he was riding in. A large amount of cash was found inside the victim's vehicle. The suspects left in a white pickup truck.
