Arrest on Sexual Assault of a Child

July 6, 2005 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect accused of indecency with a child (sexual contact) at a private residence in the 4000 block of Black Locust on May 26.

The suspect, John Cedillo (H/m, DOB 8/10/43), is charged with indecency with a child- sexual contact in the 338th State District Court. Cedillo was arrested without incident at his residence at 1019 West Gardner on July 1.

Houston Juvenile Division Sergeant L. Ousley and Officer M. Gallagher of the Sex Crimes Unit reported:

On May 26, the suspect molested a nine year-old girl at a party. The child made an immediate outcry to her mother who alerted authorities. During the investigation, officers learned the suspect has molested other children and was charged in 1984 with the identical crime. On Friday, July 1, 2005, a Harris County grand jury returned an indictment against Cedillo charging him with indecency with a child by sexual contact, a second-degree felony.

Investigation into Shooting at 7100 De Priest Street

August 3, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 7100 De Priest Street about 7:05 p.m. on Monday (August 2).

The victim, Michael Perry, 36, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives C. Johnson and L. Castellanos reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a reported shooting call at the above address and learned Mr. Perry had been shot.  Further investigation determined Perry was riding his bicycle when an unknown vehicle pulled alongside.  An unknown suspect, described only as a black male, shot Perry once in the lower back before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

At this time, there is no known motive.
