July 26, 2005 -- Houston police have learned the identity of a female suspect fatally shot by officers after she pointed a weapon at officers at 644 Barringer Lane about 12:05 a.m. on Monday (July 25).

The Harris County Medical Examiner's office used fingerprints to positively identify the suspect as Bridget Clare Dolan (w/f, DOB 5-31-79).

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.W. McStravick and Officer I.F. Flores Jr. reported:

League City police officers were pursuing a suspect in a Dodge pickup truck that was wanted in an aggravated robbery that occurred in League City. Houston police officers assisted in the pursuit. The suspect's vehicle stopped in front of an apartment complex at 644 Barringer Lane and the female suspect fled on foot. HPD and a League City officer gave chase on foot and caught up with the suspect who pointed a pistol at the officers. She was ordered to drop the weapon but refused. HPD Officer K.W. Rogers and League City Sergeant P.R. Odin fired their weapons striking the female suspect several times. She was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The officers were not injured.

Officer Rogers, assigned to the Clear Lake Patrol Division, was sworn in as an HPD officer in May of 1980.

As is customary, this case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide and Internal Affairs Divisions and the Harris County District Attorney's office.
