Incident at 2222 Westerland #95

June 6, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 2222 Westerland #95 about 11:40 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2005.

The deceased victim is identified as Jason James Tinder, 32, of 2222 Westerland #95. He suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, Michael D. Montgomery (w/m DOB: 06-22-57), was arrested and charged with murder in the 248th State District Court.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W.P. Booth and Officer R. A. Swainson reported:

Tinder and Montgomery, who shared an apartment together, became involved in a physical disturbance. Montgomery pulled a weapon, firing once shot and striking Tinder in the chest.
