Traffic Incident at Bellaire and Fondren

June 6, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at Bellaire Boulevard and Fondren about 3:40 a.m. on Sunday (June 5).

The identity of the thirty-three year old female victim is pending notification of next of kin. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant T. McCabe and Officers S. Martinez and L. Ferguson reported:

A Chevy Cavalier was traveling southbound on Fondren when a Ford Taurus, traveling eastbound on Bellaire, made an illegal left turn striking the passenger side of the Cavalier. The impact crushed the entire passenger side of the vehicle into the driver's side of the vehicle. The passenger was killed instantly and the two drivers were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
