Traffic Incident at 6300 Gulf Freeway

June 14, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 6300 Gulf Freeway on Monday (June 13) about 11:30 p.m.

The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant G. T. Hall and Officer I. M. Labdi reported:

A 1998 Mercury Marquis traveling northbound on the Gulf Freeway struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the freeway. The victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the Mercury, who was not injured, remained at the scene until officers arrived.

The investigation is continuing.
