Update on Incident at 5560 Gasmer

June 17, 2005 -- A suspect has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 5560 Gasmer about 10:40 p.m. on September 26, 2003.

The suspect, Taymarius Juane Jones (b/m DOB: 2-16-84), was arrested on Tuesday (June 14) and charged with capital murder in the 228th State District Court. The victim, Mohammad Rahman, 35, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. K. Peters and Officer K. P. Carr reported:

Rahman was working at a convenience store when Jones entered the business and shot him. After Jones shot Rahman, he was observed carrying a 12-pack of beer as he fled the store. Jones discharged his weapon into the air as he was running off. Other witnesses were inside the store when this incident occurred.
