Incident at 7200 Mullins

June 24, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the 7200 block of Mullins about 5:50 p.m. on Thursday (June 23).

The victim, Joven Reyes, 56, of 6120 Bellaire Blvd #150 suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.J. Grysen and Officer D.R. Shorten reported:

The victim was operating an ice cream vending cart. On the top of the cart was a basket that contained snack items. According to a witness, the victim was seen speaking with someone in a small red vehicle. The vehicle sped off and the victim was found on the ground with a gunshot wound.
