Incident at 3129 Lakewood Drive

June 27, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3129 Lakewood Drive on Monday June 27, 2005 about 1 a.m.

The deceased victim is identified as Oscar Leos of 2903 Briarwick Lane. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim is Rodrigo Martinez of 2903 Briarwick Lane. He suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder and arm and is in stable condition at Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Officers I.F. Flores and P.T. Yochum reported:

Four Hispanic males were standing in the yard of a residence. The homeowner believed he was going to be a victim of a home invasion so he confronted the males with a weapon and shot at them. The males fled on foot and then got into a vehicle. The homeowner followed them and fired several more shots. The deceased victim died of his injuries a short distance away from the scene. The other victim was transported to the hospital.

This case is currently under investigation by the Homicide Division. No charges have been filed at this time.
