Incident at 5100 Mauldin

March 25, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found in the 5100 block of Mauldin about 6:10 a.m. today (March 25).

The victim was identified as William Leon Harrell, 30, of 7024 Goforth. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers R. Moreno and C. Scales reported:

The victim was found dead inside his vehicle. Investigators learned he might have been shot in the 4800 block of White Rock about 1 a.m. That is when a witness saw a light blue van leave the area on White Rock. It is believed the van might have California license plates.
