Incident at 6603 Harwin

May 4, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the shooting of two males at 6603 Harwin about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2005.

The male victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was identified as Romeet Chawala, 25, of 4534 Wavertree, Missouri City, Texas. Chawala suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Officer H. Chavez reported:

An unknown suspect shot the victims for an unknown reason. The suspect stole their vehicle, which had been borrowed by Chawala from a friend. The stolen vehicle is a black 2003 Lexus IS300, 4-door, Texas license plate T87FFB.
