Incident at 241 North Milby

May 16, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 241 N. Milby about 1 a.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2005.

The deceased victim is identified as Humberto Montalvo Flores, 41, of 10926 Verano. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital later the same day.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Hernandez and Officer X. Avila reported:

Flores and the suspect (only known as "Flaco") were standing at the bar located at 241 North Milby when the suspect pulled a pistol and shot Flores one time in the head. "Flaco" fled the club on foot and was followed by some of the club patrons. He noticed that he was being followed and shot at the ground to scare the patrons away. The suspect went down 100 North Kendall where a barking dog approached him. He fired one shot at the ground to scare the dog away. "Flaco" was last seen walking down 100 N. Kendall toward Canal Street.
