Traffic Incident at 3700 West Orem

May 20, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 3700 block of West Orem about 8:45 p.m. on Thursday (May 19).

The identity of the deceased male victim, 64, has not been released at this time.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant H.M. Garcia and Officers K. Smallwood and R. Davidson reported:

A Mazda 626 vehicle was traveling westbound on West Orem when it went off the roadway and struck several trees on the northside of the street. Both the driver and the passenger (victim) were ejected from the vehicle. The driver was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
