Incident at 12928 Tosca Lane

May 24, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a child at 12928 Tosca Lane about 12:30 a.m. today (May 24).

The victim was a white female, 9, of 12928 Tosca Lane. She displayed no signs of trauma and was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital. The cause of death will be determined by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.W. Howard and Officer P.T. Yochum reported:

The victim had complained of feeling ill while at school earlier in the day and still felt ill while at home in the afternoon. The girl awoke her family later in the night and complained that she felt worse. The family called an ambulance and she was transported to the hospital where she later died.
