Traffic Incident at 300 North Loop

November 24, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident at 300 North Loop about 1:40 a.m. today (Nov.24).

The identity of the deceased victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant G.T. Hall and Officer L. Ferguson reported:

The victim, a pedestrian, was struck and killed as he walked eastbound on the North Loop. An unidentified motorist fled the scene after striking and killing the victim. The suspected hit-and-run vehicle was recovered abandoned on Airline near the North Loop a short time later.

The investigation is continuing.
