Incident at 5036 Jefferson

October 3, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at 5036 Jefferson about 3:30 a.m. today (Oct. 3).

A female victim, Michelle Jetty, 39, suffered a gunshot wound to the head. The identity of the male suspect has not been released pending notification to his family members.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.R. Swaim and Officer C.P. Abbondandolo reported:

Ms. Jetty lived at 5036 Jefferson with her infant son. Her ex-boyfriend (the suspect) is the boy's father. The couple had not been together for some time. Ms. Jetty and her ex-boyfriend were having problems stemming from the relationship and disagreements regarding child custody. The ex-boyfriend went to her home in the early morning hours and fatally shot Jetty and then himself. The baby was in the home, but was not harmed.
