Traffic Incident at 6800 Gulf Freeway

October 17, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6800 block of the Gulf Freeway about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 16).

The identity of the deceased female victim, in her 30s, has not been released pending notification to her next of kin.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant R.R. Schweicker and Officer S. Johnson reported:

The deceased victim was driving a vehicle southbound on the Gulf Freeway at a high rate of speed when she lost control and collided with the inside concrete guardrail. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult male passenger sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.
