Incident at 6200 West Bellfort #435

October 28, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man at 6200 West Bellfort #435 about 8 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 26).

The victim, Pablo Habacuc Sotelo, 63, of 6200 West Bellfort #435 suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest and abdomen.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and Officers S.R. Straughter and T. Hufstedler reported:

Mr. Sotelo was last seen Wednesday night buying beer at a nearby convenience store and then entering his apartment with his roommate and an unknown male. According to a witness, Mr. Sotelo had earlier stated he was going to have company at his house during the World Series playoff game that evening. An employee of a pest control company found Mr. Sotelo dead the next day inside his apartment. Investigators were able to determine a struggle had occurred inside the apartment and they recovered a large knife and small knife handle. There are no known witnesses and no arrests or charges have been filed. The roommate of Mr. Sotelo is wanted only for questioning at this time.
