Traffic Incident at 3400 Anderson Road

September 3, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 3400 Anderson Rd. today (Sept. 3) about 12:20 a.m.

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiners office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer R. Stafford reported:

According to witnesses, the driver of a Toyota Celica was driving erratically westbound on Anderson Rd. when he lost control of the vehicle and landed in a culvert. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an undetermined condition.

Toxicology tests are pending to determine if alcohol was a factor in the accident.

The investigation is continuing.
