Incident at 6200 Westpark

September 4, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 6200 Westpark today (September 4), about 2:30 a.m.

The victim has been identified as Luis Arquirme Ruiz, 17, of 2821 Green Ridge #82A. He suffered gunshot wounds to the back and groin and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officer I.F. Flores and Officer P.T. Yochum reported:

Ruiz and a witness had been speaking with two Hispanic males in the parking lot of a Citgo gas station at 6155 Southwest Freeway. Ruiz drove off in his van going westbound on Westpark. The two Hispanic males followed them in their white Ford Expedition or Explorer SUV. The suspects pulled to the left side of Ruiz' van, shot at him and drove away.
