Incident at 6565 Fondren

September 13, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 6565 Fondren about 11:50 a.m. on Monday (Sept. 12).

The victim is identified as Rogelio Angel Caballero, 39, of 2308 Lillian in Pasadena. He suffered gunshot wounds to the head and torso.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S.R. Kennedy and Officer T.W. Miller reported:

Mr. Caballero, owner of the Texas Pawnshop at 6565 Fondren, was shot and killed during the course of a robbery at his business. The armed suspects entered the business and shot Mr. Caballero after he activated the business' hold-up alarm.

The suspects are described only as three black males who fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
