Incident at 6240 Antoine

September 13, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a baby girl transported to the hospital from her home at 6240 Antoine about 3 a.m. on September 8.

The victim is identified as Gi'Auna McCullough, 14 months old, who suffered blunt force trauma to her head.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Officer H. Chavez reported:

Baby Gi'Auna was taken to Texas Children's Hospital for medical treatment last Thursday (Sept. 8). She had been crying on and off for a couple of hours before she was taken to the hospital, and was not responding in her normal manner. The baby was examined at the hospital and was found to have blunt trauma to her head. She died at the hospital two days later (Sept. 10).

Investigators have spoken with family members and the investigation is continuing. No arrests have been made at this time.
