Incident at 1109 Silber

September 28, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 1109 Silber about 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 27).

The victim, identified as Jose Guadalupe Navarro, 61, suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.W. Howard and Officer B.D. Evans reported:

Investigators were told Mr. Navarro had driven to work to open his bar for business about 10:40 p.m. About 11:55 p.m., one of his employees reported to work and found Navarro on the floor. When she realized he might be dead, she called police. Evidence at the scene indicates Navarro might have been shot during a robbery.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 1816 Bonover Street

October 25, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 1816 Bonover Street about 2 a.m. on Saturday (October 23).  

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. Horn and M. Brady and Detectives C. LaFour and J. Caten reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and met with a witness who stated a neighbor called him to report gunshots in the area.  At that time, the witness checked his property and found a male down on the side of his house.  The witness then called 9-1-1 and paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.  

A preliminary investigation indicated the shooting began at a nearby residence in the 4100 block of Kolb Street.  

At this time, there is no known motive or suspect(s).
