Update on Incident at 9605 Southwest Freeway

April 2, 2006 --Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9605 Southwest Freeway on April 1, 2006 about 9:30 p.m.

The suspect in this case is described as a Hispanic male in his early 30s, approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall (medium build). The suspect fled the location in a 1999 black Ford Expedition.

The identity of the deceased male victim is pending notification to next of kin. He suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital where he later died.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant G. Gonzales and Officer C. Park reported:

The victim was pulling into the parking lot of a club when his vehicle was partially blocked by the suspect's vehicle. The victim and his brother honked at the suspect and got out of their truck. They walked over to the suspect's front passenger side and began yelling at the suspect. A short time later, the suspect fired one shot striking the victim.
