Incident at 6767 Bennington

August 25, 2006 -- Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a man at 6767 Bennington about 7:45 p.m. on Thursday (August 24).

The suspect is identified as Nina Marie Singleton (b/f, DOB 10/24/79). She is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court and remains in custody.

The victim is identified as Donnie Davis, 38, of 6767 Bennington. He suffered
a stab wound to the chest.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.D. Newcomb and Officer A. Mares reported:

Suspect, Singleton, who is the girlfriend of Davis, stabbed him inside of his apartment. Davis was transported to LBJ Hospital where he later died. Singleton was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with no apparent injuries. She remains in custody.
