Incident at 3400 South Richey

August 26, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the death of an unidentified person whose body was found in the 3400 block of South Richey at approximately 6:00 p.m. on August 25, 2006.

Houston Police Homicide investigators B. Nabors and K. Carr reported:

On Friday, August 25, 2006, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers from the Southeast Patrol Division were summoned to the 3400 block of South Richey regarding a found body. The call was made to the police by Tim Miller, Texas Equi-search, who had been in the area searching for a missing female from Cleveland, Texas. Due to the condition of the remains, it is undetermined at this time if the body is that of the missing female, as well as the manner or cause of death.

The identification and cause of death will be determined by the Harris County Medical Examine's office. Investigators from the Texas Rangers and the Cleveland, Texas Police Department are also actively involved in this investigation.
