Law Enforcement Agencies Investigate Luggage Theft at IAH

December 27, 2006 -- On Tuesday morning, December 26, 2006, the Harris County Sheriff's Department received a call concerning 68 pieces of luggage located in a dumpster at 230 Bammel Westfield in North Harris County. Officers from the Houston Police Department Airport Division responded with Sheriff's Department because the luggage appeared to be taken from the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

An investigation into the circumstances is underway and officers have determined that the articles of luggage involve as many as nine different airlines. Investigators are working closely with the airlines as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) because some of the luggage appears connected to international flights.
