Incident at 10750 Westbrae Parkway

February 5, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the murder of a woman at 10750 Westbrae Parkway #1109, on February 4, 2006 about 11:50 a.m.

The victim is identified as Mandy R. Rubin, 25, of 10750 Westbrae Parkway #1109. The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Binford and Officer R. Swainson reported:

Security personnel were called after her apartment door was found unlocked by friends who came to visit. Apartment security personnel found Ms. Rubin deceased in her bathroom. There was no sign of forced entry to the apartment. It appears that she fought her killer in the bedroom and into the bathroom. It is also possible that she was sexually assaulted during the attack.

Ms. Rubin was an assistant manager of the apartment complex. She was well known and liked by her neighbors and coworkers.
