Incident at 4300 Saunders Road

February 6, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 4300 Saunders Road on February 5, 2006 about 12 noon.

The victim is identified as Robert Antonio Saravia, 26, of 504 Turner Drive. He suffered gunshot wounds to the head and back as well as trauma to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T.C. Bloyd and Officer D.L. Robertson reported:

A passerby found the body of Mr. Saravia laying face down in a ditch. Evidence at the scene indicated that he was assaulted at another location and then moved to the ditch. The location does not appear to be well traveled. His parents last saw him on Saturday (February 4) about noon. It appears that robbery was not the motive.
