Incident at 7620 Katy Freeway

February 23, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7620 Katy Freeway about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 22).

The victim has been identified as Michael Gutierrez, 25, address unknown. He suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant G. Gonzales and Officer M. S. Walker reported:

Mr. Gutierrez went to meet a friend at a nearby restaurant for dinner and drinks. Witnesses stated they heard a single gunshot and then observed a dark blue or black, four-door mid-sized Sedan leaving the scene. Mr. Gutierrez ran a short distance and then collapsed in the parking lot near the restaurant.
