Update on Incident at 6835 Griggs Road
January 11, 2006 -- Charges
have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting
of a man at 6835 Griggs Road about 1 a.m. on January 2.
The suspect, Jaime
Perez Flores (H/m DOB: 4-07-76), has been charged with murder
in the 248th State District Court.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. R. Hernandez
and Officers P. J. Guerrero and X. E. Avila reported:
The victim, Reynaldo Valdez Santibanez, 45, of
7902 Ave B, and the suspect were drinking in different areas of
the Centro Botanero La Iguana bar. The suspect approached Santibanez
and his nephew and an argument ensued. The suspect produced a
chrome .380-caliber pistol and fired at least four times. Santibanez
was struck three times and died at the scene.
The suspect then ran across Griggs where witnesses
report that he jumped over a backyard fence.
