Incident at 140 Hardwicke Road

January 11, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and woman at 140 Hardwicke Road about 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2006.

The first victim has been identified as J. Felix Valdez, 29, of 6525 Redding Springs. He suffered gunshot wounds to the face and chest. The second victim is identified as Concepsion Vazquez, 44, of 6931 Winding Trace. She suffered gunshot wounds to her head and face. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant E.S. Mehl and Officer M.F. Waters reported:

The victims operated the "Discoteca Y Novedades" Video Store at 140 Hardwicke Road. They were shot multiple times by two unknown Hispanic male suspects who fled the scene. Investigators believe robbery may have been a motive for the shooting.

The suspects are described only as two Hispanic males possibly driving a light blue Ford Tempo with damage to the hood and an excessive exhaust.
