Traffic Incident at 9200 Richland

January 21, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 9200 Richland about 8:20 p.m. on Friday (Jan. 20).

The victim is identified as Booker T. Whitaker, 39. He was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant N. Nguyen and Officer D. Ertons reported:

The driver of a green Chevrolet Silverado truck traveling eastbound on Richland was attempting to make a left turn into a private driveway when he struck a westbound Yamaha motorcycle being driven by the victim. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.
