Traffic Incident at 11700 Wallisville

January 21, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 11700 Wallisville about 2:45 a.m. today (Jan. 21).

The identity of the deceased male victim is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. He was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The condition of an unidentified female passenger and her whereabouts is unknown.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer S. Martinez reported:

The driver of a Honda Passport traveling westbound on Wallisville at a high rate of speed struck the curb and lost control of the vehicle. The Honda rolled over and landed on its roof. After the accident, an unknown witness removed a female passenger from the wreckage and transported her to an unknown location. It appears no other vehicles were involved.

The investigation is continuing.
