Incident at 8421 Garland
July 14, 2006 -- Houston police
are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding
of another at 8421 Garland about 2:15 a.m. today (July 14).
The deceased victim, Johnathon Salinas, 21, of
8421 Garland, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and died at
the scene.
The wounded male was struck in the buttocks and
was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital for treatment.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Mcstravick
and Officer B.D. Evans reported:
The victim and two other males were outside of
his residence when they were approached by the suspects in an
unknown red or maroon compact four door vehicle. The passenger
in this vehicle asked the males if they knew a certain person.
As the victim and another male approached the vehicle, the passenger
produced a gun and shot both of them.
The suspects are described only as hispanic males
in their early twenties.
