Incident at 4500 Laureldale

July 22, 2006 -- Houston Police homicide detectives are investigating the shooting of a male victim at 4500 Laureldale on July 22, 2006.

Homicide investigators J. Binford and R. Swainson report:

On July 22, 2006, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the victim, whose identity is being withheld at this time, was involved in a domestic disturbance with his wife. While the couple was driving, the wife exited the vehicle and began walking in the 4500 block of Laureldale. The wife met a group of young people who were outside a home socializing. A short time later, the victim approached this group and questioned them about his wife's whereabouts. An argument ensued between the victim and the group. The victim left and went to his home to retrieve a gun. The victim then returned to the group and again confronted them about his wife's whereabouts. During this confrontation, an individual within the group produced a weapon and the victim was shot multiple times.

The victim was transported to Ben Taub hospital by HFD and was listed in critical condition.
