Incident at 6603 Hirsch

June 1, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a child at 6603 Hirsch #1206 about 9 a.m. on Wednesday (May 31).

The suspect, Melissa Danielle Wright (b/f, DOB: 10-19-77) has been arrested and charged with injury to a child by omission in the 351st State District Court.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Officer H. A. Chavez reported:

The victim, Alexander G. Wright, 3, was taken by ambulance to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital after being found unresponsive. The child had suffered multiple trauma injuries that indicated physical abuse. The mother, Melissa Wright, was interviewed by Homicide investigators and then taken into custody. Investigators are seeking to speak with Wright's boyfriend who they consider a person of interest.
