Incident at 7302 Corporate Drive

June 2, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the apparent drowning of a child at 7302 Corporate Drive about 8:20 p.m. on Thursday (June 1).

The victim is identified as Dequan Humphries, 7, of 7302 Corporate #1101. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant G. Gonzales and Officer I.F. Flores reported:

HPD officers were called to the apartment complex located at 7302 Corporate Drive regarding a possible drowning. According to witnesses, Dequan was last seen in the swimming pool moving towards the deep end. Minutes later, he was discovered lying motionless at the bottom of the pool. Witnesses pulled the child from the pool and called HFD paramedics.
