2nd Update on Incident at 3435 Walnut Bend #2904

June 12, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the death of a baby girl in an incident at 3435 Walnut Bend #2904 about 4 p.m. on April 5, 2006.

The suspect, Tamea Mingo (b/f, DOB 3-31-79), is charged with injury to a child in the 182nd State District Court. She is accused in the death of her daughter, Mirissa Mingo, 13 months old.

HPD Homicide Division Officers S.R. Straughter and A. Mares reported:

Tamea Mingo called 911 and reported that her daughter, Mirissa, had fallen out of bed and hit her head. Mirissa was transported to West Houston Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

On April 19, Harris County Medical Examiner's ruled the death a homicide.
