June 26, 2006 -- Five suspects have been arrested and charged with capital murder relating to the deaths of Maria Chrisalee Apparece of Sugarland and Huy Ngo of Houston.

Houston Homicide Division investigators Sergeant E. Gonzalez and Officer Alan Brown report:

The Houston Police Department Homicide Division, along with detectives from the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, the Harris County Sheriff's Office and the Humble Police Department, have arrested five suspects and charged each with capital murder. These charges relate to the robbery, kidnapping, and murder of Chrisalee Apparece and Huy Ngo, as well as two other robbery murders occurring in northeast Houston.

These arrests and charges are the culmination of a cooperative investigation by these agencies after a suspect arrested by Humble police was connected to Ms. Apparece's vehicle. Further investigation by Humble P.D., Fort Bend Sheriff's Office, Harris County Sheriff's Office, and Houston police led to the arrest of four other suspects.

Based on evidence obtained during the investigation and statements given to investigators by the suspects, the following suspects are charged with:

Dexter Johnson (b/m 6-7-88)

Capital Murder in the May 26, 2006 murder of Brady Davis at 11300 Homestead.

Capital Murder (2 counts) in the June 18, 2006 murder of Chrisalee Apparece and Huy Ngo at 10400 Gateway.

Capital Murder in the June 20, 2006 murder of Jose Lopez at 6920 Annunciation.

Timothy Randle (b/m 3-20-87)

Capital Murder (2 counts) in the June 18, 2006 murder of Chrisalee Apparece and Huy Ngo at 10400 Gateway.

Capital Murder in the June 20, 2006 murder of Jose Lopez at 6920 Annunciation.

Alvie Butler (b/m 12-5-83)

Capital Murder in the June 20, 2006 murder of Jose Lopez at 6920 Annunciation.

Keithron Fields (b/m 9-1-78)

Capital Murder in the May 26, 2006 murder of Brady Davis at 11300 Homestead.

Capital Murder (2 counts) in the June 18, 2006 murder of Chrisalee Apparece and Huy Ngo at 10400 Gateway.

Capital Murder in the June 20, 2006 murder of Jose Lopez at 6920 Annunciation.

Ashley Ervin (b/f 4-22-89)

Capital Murder in the May 26, 2006 murder of Brady Davis at 11300 Homestead.

Capital Murder (2 counts) in the June 18, 2006 murder of Chrisalee Apparece and Huy Ngo at 10400 Gateway.

In addition to the above robbery murders, Houston police investigators believe these suspects are responsible for at least 15 additional aggravated robberies, two kidnappings, and the shooting of at least two other victims. The investigation into these suspects and the crimes committed by this group continues.

Houston Police Chief Harold Hurtt expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and dedication of the officers and the law enforcement agencies participating in this investigation.
