Incident at 10106 Algiers Road

March 21, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 10106 Algiers Road about 6:50 p.m. on Monday (Mar. 20).

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification to family members. He suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants G. Gonzales and C.J. Grysen reported:

Witnesses said the unknown black male suspect went to the residence at 10106 Algiers and asked to see the victim. The suspect went into the victim's bedroom and demanded money from him. The two men got into a struggle that escalated when shots were fired. The suspect took an unknown amount of money and then fled in a dark, four-door vehicle.
