Incident at 1108 Crosby

May 15, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 1108 Crosby about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday (May 14).

The victim has been identified as Avinash Miranda, 25, of 1108 Crosby. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olivo and Officer M. Khan reported:

The victim's girlfriend went to his residence and found him dead just inside the doorway of his home. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time, but it appears the victim was attacked. There are no known witnesses to this incident.
