Traffic Incident at 4900 North Freeway

May 21, 2006 -- Investigators assigned to the Hit and Run Unit of the Mobility Incident Management Division are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred in the 4900 block of the North Freeway at approximately 1:50 AM on May 21, 2006. The accident claimed the life of a Hispanic female pedestrian.

Senior Police Officer A.J. Mock reports:

An adult female, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family members, ran east into the southbound lanes of the North Freeway and was struck by an unknown vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into this accident and the search for the vehicle that struck the victim is continuing.
