Update on Incident at 1500 Gale

November 30, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 1500 Gale about 4 a.m. on October 15, 2006.

The suspect, Derrick Waiters (b/m, DOB 2/26/88) is charged with murder in the 184th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Reginald Jackson, 38, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants B. Roberts and D. Crain and Officer J. Sosa reported:

Houston police officers responded to a shooting call at 1500 Gale. Upon arrival, officers found Mr. Jackson's body lying along the side of the curb. In the follow-up investigation, a suspect's name was developed and investigators arrested Waiters about 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 29).
