Update on Incident at 7413 Airline - Eight Suspects Arrested

October 6, 2006 -- Houston police have arrested eight of nine suspects connected with an aggravated robbery and kidnapping that occurred at 7413 Airline Drive on
Monday, October 2, 2006 at around 8:45 p.m.

On October 3, 2006, at approximately 11:50 p.m., HPD patrol officers and homicide investigators located and recovered 50-year-old David De Leon Paredes from a house at 3405 McAshan. Mr. Paredes was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

Eight suspects were arrested and charged in the abduction of Paredes. The abduction appears to be related to some missing illegal drugs and the suspects' belief that Paredes owed them money. All of the suspects have been charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery in the 339th State District Court. An additional suspect is being sought as this investigation continues. The suspects charged in this case are:

Justo Chapa (Hm/ DOB: 9-24-86); Jose Chapa (Hm/ DOB: 9-8-75);
Rafael Perez (Hm/ DOB: 10-11-84); Noe Cruz Perez (Hm/ DOB: 12-31-82);
Robert Torres (Hm/ DOB: 1-12-64); Anthony Fuentes (Hm/ DOB: 1-8-75);
Sandra Chapa (Hf/ DOB: 8-6-76) and Rodrigo Lazo (Hm/ DOB: 3-14-65)

Details of the incident are as follows:
According to Houston Police Department Homicide Division Sergeant J.T. Wyers and Officer B.W. Nabors, investigators were contacted about a kidnapping call at De Leon Auto Sales at 7413 Airline Drive. Employees of the business reported that three male suspects and one female suspect entered the business with guns and robbed everyone. The owner, David De Leon Paredes, of 7413 Airline Drive, was forced into a champagne or tan colored, older model Chevrolet truck with an extended cab. The suspects fled the business in the Chevrolet.
