HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olivo and Officers M. Walker and C. Hufstedler reported:

Mr. Lee and his girlfriend left a convenience store when a white Dodge extended cab pickup truck pulled up next to their vehicle while in traffic. For unknown reasons, Lee rolled down his vehicle's window and exchanged words with the driver of the pickup. Lee then pulled into a second convenience store (at 7701 West Montgomery) and the suspect's truck followed him there. Lee got out of his vehicle and continued the argument with the driver of the pickup, who also got out of his vehicle. The passenger in the truck also got out. He was armed with a shotgun and fired one time at Lee. The suspects, described only as two black males, then fled the scene.
