Incident at 5026 Ridgestone

September 11, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of two men and stabbings of four others at 5026 Ridgestone about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 10).

The deceased victims are identified as Armando Garza Jr., 16, of an unknown address and Ruben Gilbert Briones, 20, of 2411 Stonewood in Missouri City. Garza was shot in the back and suffered multiple stab wounds, while Briones suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Both died at the scene.

Four other injured persons were identified as Rodolfo Castillo, 20, Robert Briones, 16, Nelson Guardado, 16, and Manuel Guardado, 19. All four suffered stab wounds and were transported to area hospitals. Castillo is reported in critical condition, while the three others suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.J. Brooks and Officer M.F. Waters II reported:

A fight broke out among several males during a large birthday party at 5026 Ridgestone, where the Guardado victims reside. At some point, the males pulled knives and guns and attacked each other.

Investigators have interviewed some of the injured, but are asking for witnesses at the party to come forward to provide further information. There are no other known suspects wanted at this time.
