Incident at 8800 Hammerly

February 18, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating the shooting of two men at 8800 Hammerly about 11:35 p.m. on Saturday (February 17).

The identities of the victims are unknown at this time. They each suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were taken to Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant E. Gonzalez and R. Chappell reported:

One of the victims was leaving a parking lot when the suspect approached him and demanded his wallet. The second victim saw the confrontation as the suspect shot the first victim. The second victim physically fought with the suspect but was also shot. Both victims were taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing about 150 to 170 pounds. He had a shaved head and spoke both English and Spanish.

He was seen leaving in a blue, older model two door vehicle, with several other suspects, all Hispanic.

The investigation is continuing.
