Incident at 7075 Manor Way

February 21, 2007 -- The fatal shooting of an aggravated assault suspect at 7015 Manor Way about 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 20) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased suspect, who suffered a gunshot wound, is pending notification to family members.

The assault victim is identified as Travis Lee Haddox, 27.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants T. Huynh and A. Semmelrock reported:

The suspect began a disturbance inside Lexey's Bar and struck a female bartender as he was being escorted out of the bar. The suspect began fighting with Mr. Haddox, produced a knife and began chasing Haddox, who ran outside and locked himself inside of his pickup truck. Using his knife, the suspect broke out a window in Haddox's truck and continued to threaten Haddox. Fearing for his safety, Haddox retrieved a pistol from inside his truck and fired, striking the suspect once. The suspect died at the scene.
