Traffic Incident at 2307 McAllister

January 25, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 2307 McAllister about 1 a.m. today (Jan. 25).

The identity of the victim, a male in his 50s, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer M.E. Wick reported:

The victim was driving a late model pickup truck north on McAllister. For reasons unknown, he drove across an oncoming lane and into a ditch. The victim walked away from the truck and was later taken by a friend to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital. Medical personnel pronounced him dead during surgery.

The investigation is continuing.
